To help mitigate violence in the Congo, the US congress has passed legislation which is designed to force companies to disclose whether or not their products contain conflict minerals. The relevant rule is included in section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Companies need to disclose whether or not conflict minerals are necessary to the functionality or production of a product they manufacture.
Graw Radiosondes supports this initiative and commits itself to only purchase conflict-free materials. All suppliers must confirm and prove the conflict-free origin of the relevant materials.
